This is a design that I came up with to utilize a whole bunch of fall
off from another project. In fact, most of this deck is
recycled/recovered from multiple different jobs. This is our
guide shack. Don't laugh, we own it outright.
This
is a standard vertical rail. This clean look is very common.
Horizontal rail designs can be made with any combination of 2x2 or 2x4
pickets, evenly spaced or staggered and grouped.
This vertical picket rail has the 2x4's layed flat, top and bottom of
the pickets so as
to hide the fasteners. Then it's
capped with a 2x6 screwed from below.
Wrapping the stair case around created a cozy nook below while granting
access
to the
upstairs bedroom.
